NBL Fixtures Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This policy covers the NBL Fixtures website. We are an independent basketball information site, separate from the National Basketball League, its clubs and the ticketing or streaming services we link to.

You do not need an NBL Fixtures account to browse schedules, results or player pages. We do not take ticket payments or sell streaming subscriptions. The current NBL Fixtures pages do not include our own advertising or analytics tracking tags.

Cookies and your saved preferences

Cookies are small values your browser stores for a website. Our time-zone cookie remembers how you want game times displayed. A separate session cookie allows the site to recognise your saved page selections, such as a team filter or player comparison.

Your filter choices are kept with your website session, rather than added to the page address. A saved page selection stops being reused after two hours. This is different from the lifetime of the session cookie, and does not mean all server information is erased at that point.

Time-zone preference

The nbl-zone cookie can remain for up to one year after you set a time zone. Changing the zone replaces that preference.

Website session

The JSESSIONID cookie can remain for up to seven days. The website session expires after seven days without activity; individual page selections have the shorter two-hour period described above.

How to change or clear your choices

Use the time-zone selector to change the times you see. Where a filter form has Reset, it clears the saved selection for that page. It does not remove all website cookies or your separate time-zone preference.

You can remove this site's cookies through your browser's privacy settings. Blocking cookies may prevent the site from remembering filters or time zones. Clearing a browser cookie does not delete server logs or information held by a video, ticketing or calendar provider.

Website requests and service information

Opening a page sends information such as your IP address, requested page, request time and browser details to the services delivering the website. Server or security logs may record these details to operate the site, diagnose faults and protect it from misuse.

A single fixed retention period for all service logs is not specified here. Cookie expiry and filter expiry should not be read as a promise that every log entry has been deleted. The contact page explains the available route for questions about this website.

Videos, calendars and other websites

Video thumbnails and playback

Match pages may load thumbnail images from the NBL's video service. Selecting Play loads an embedded player from that service, which may receive your IP address and browser details and use its own cookies. You can choose not to start the player.

Tickets, viewing services and calendars

Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy terms. A calendar app manages a fixture subscription or downloaded calendar under that app's settings. We do not receive your private calendar entries through the fixture download tool.

Services outside Australia

External services may process information outside Australia. Check the provider's policy for its locations and practices; an Australian fixture or audience does not mean every linked service stores information in Australia.

For questions about your information, including an access, correction or privacy concern, use the contact details available on our contact page. Tell us which feature or interaction your question concerns and avoid including sensitive documents in an initial message.
