Finding Your NBL Team
The Australian NBL has ten clubs in the 2026–27 season: nine based in Australia and the New Zealand Breakers across the Tasman. This directory brings the clubs together with their home cities, familiar arenas, current records and next fixtures. Choose a club when you want to follow its entire season, including away games. Choose a city instead when your main question is where you can attend basketball on a particular trip.
Start with the club, then check the game
Use the name search to find a team or its home city. Searching Melbourne brings up both Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix. The country selector separates the Australian clubs from the Breakers without changing the competition being covered. All ten clubs compete in the same NBL. The country filter is a way of browsing their bases, rather than a separate Australian or New Zealand points table.
Every team card links to its fixture page. That page lets you move between upcoming games and completed results. The next-game card can show either a home or an away fixture, so read its venue before making plans. A club's home city tells you where it is based; it does not mean the next game will be played there. Open the match centre for the opponent, tip-off and available viewing or ticket information.
Clubs, Cities and Home Courts
Two teams in Melbourne
Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix are separate clubs. Their names, logos, records and calendar feeds remain distinct here. Both use John Cain Arena, while Phoenix also has fixtures at State Basketball Centre. If you are buying a ticket or adding a calendar, check the full club name. A city calendar is the useful option when you want to see games in Melbourne regardless of which club is playing.
Regional names can cover more than one venue
Illawarra Hawks are based in Wollongong, while Tasmania JackJumpers play across Tasmanian venues. A team name can represent a region rather than the exact city printed on a ticket. The home-court links help you recognise the main venues, but the individual fixture remains the place to check the actual arena. Tournament weekends, regional appearances and preseason games can take a team somewhere different.
The court names in this directory use the current information checked against official club profiles and the published NBL fixture. Arena naming rights can change. Sydney's Afterpay Arena was previously called Qudos Bank Arena, so an older match report may use the former name. That does not mean the game was played at a different building.
Understanding the Record on a Team Card
The wins and losses shown are the club's regular-season record. They are not a combined count of preseason, Blitz, league and Finals results. This distinction matters early in the campaign, when a club may already have played several preparation games. Follow the league ladder for official positions, win percentage and recent form. Use the fixture page when you want the score of one particular game.
Teams do not always have the same number of games played during a round. A record with more wins can also include more completed games. The ladder guide explains the columns and includes a percentage example. The directory gives you a quick introduction to each club; it does not declare that a team has secured a Finals berth just because it currently occupies a high position.
Following a Club Through the Season
A team calendar includes that club's published home and away fixtures in the selected season. Downloading the file gives you a copy to import. To follow later changes, use the calendar tool and subscribe by address instead. Your calendar application controls when it checks for changes. Before travelling, revisit the match page and the club's official ticket notice for the latest time and venue.
If you are following from home, the TV schedule shows Australian coverage. A New Zealand club playing in the NBL does not make Australian streaming rights available in New Zealand. Likewise, the New Zealand Breakers should not be confused with teams in New Zealand's separate domestic NBL. This site follows the Australian competition and its ten participating clubs.

Does the next-game card always show a home game?
No. It shows the next scheduled matchup involving the club, including away games. Read the arena and city before choosing tickets or travel.
Why does an old report use a different arena name?
Arena names can change with naming rights. Check the current fixture and venue link rather than assuming a familiar older name is a different location.
