Choosing a Brisbane Bullets home game

The most useful detail on a Bullets fixture is often the arena. Brisbane's basketball history includes different homes, so an old ticket email, a past-season search result or a photograph of the team does not establish where your next game will be played. Select Home games above, choose a date and read the venue before organising transport. The Next game card also includes road fixtures; the separate Next home game card is the better starting point for attending.

Brisbane Entertainment Centre and special venues

The current NBL club profile lists Brisbane Entertainment Centre as the Bullets' main arena. The official club fixture remains the place to establish the venue of a particular match. Do not substitute Nissan Arena, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre or another familiar name simply because the Bullets have appeared there before.

A basketball seating plan is specific to the event. Before selecting seats, check the basket positions, the entry section and whether the seller describes the view as restricted. Families should compare the composition of a family package with the ages and number of people attending. If you need accessible seating or a companion arrangement, follow the venue's ticketing instructions rather than assuming an ordinary seat can be changed on arrival.

Make the journey plan after confirming the arena, not before. A train stop, parking location or meeting place that works for one Brisbane venue may be useless for another. Check the official venue information linked in the home-court section for that building's access advice. Leave a margin for reaching your seat; the published tip-off is not the same as an entry time or a pre-game entertainment schedule.

Queensland time during the NBL summer

Set the page to Brisbane for a Queensland viewing schedule. Queensland stays on Australian Eastern Standard Time while several other NBL states move to daylight saving. As a result, a Sydney or Melbourne evening fixture can appear an hour earlier on your Brisbane clock during part of the season. The selector handles dates individually, so there is no need to apply one fixed correction to an entire season.

For an interstate weekend, compare the displayed time with the local venue time and the date on your ticket. Add the team calendar only once to avoid duplicate reminders. A full Bullets subscription follows the team on the road as well as at home; choose the Brisbane city calendar instead if the games you can physically attend are the ones that matter.

Brisbane Bullets history: foundation club, champions and return

  1. 1979Joined the foundation NBL competition
  2. 1985 & 1987First two championships
  3. 2007Third championship
  4. 2016-17Return to the NBL

The original competition and the Loggins era

Brisbane joined the NBL's inaugural competition in 1979. The club history traces that beginning to Bob Young and Fred Van Dongen and follows the rise from the early games at Auchenflower. Its first championship came against Adelaide in 1985. A second followed against Perth in 1987, with Leroy Loggins a central figure and Brian Kerle coaching the team through that successful period.

A third title and a break in the timeline

The league's title list also includes 2007. Brisbane's first run in the competition ended in 2008, followed by a return in 2016. That gap matters when reading an archive: the Bullets are a foundation club, but their record should not be described as uninterrupted participation in every NBL season. Their earlier trophies remain part of the club's story without implying that the modern roster is the same group.

Loggins is an especially useful name for a new fan to recognise in historical features. His importance extends beyond a single final, and the club's account connects his individual honours with Brisbane's team success. To explore another era, move forward to the 2007 championship rather than reading all three titles as a short run of consecutive wins.

Reading a long club history alongside today's team

Keep the dates attached when comparing the Bullets across generations. A season win-loss record, a Finals series and a player career total answer different questions. The statistics above describe the selected current season; they are not a list of Brisbane's all-time leaders. Historical players can remain important to supporters even when they are not part of the current squad or the next game's team announcement.

Games to follow and ways to keep up

A meeting with Adelaide or Perth offers a connection to Brisbane's first two title seasons. A trip to Cairns brings two Queensland clubs into the same fixture. Those are useful ways to choose a game with a story behind it, but they do not predict the result. Check the actual date, current form and venue rather than treating an old rivalry article as a match preview.

For a quick check after a game, switch to Completed. For a fuller picture, open the match centre to see the available box score and videos. Player points alone can miss useful contributions: rebounds and assists help explain how the result happened, while games played gives context to the season averages. A blank result means the final score is not available here yet; it is not a nil-all draw.

When staying home, look for the announced channel on the fixture and follow the Australian viewing guide for the relevant service. Free coverage is attached to specific games, not to the Bullets as a whole. A reminder in your calendar tells you when the game is scheduled; it does not provide admission, a streaming account or a reserved seat.

Brisbane Bullets fan questions

Which arena should I travel to for the Bullets?

Use the venue on your chosen fixture and ticket. Brisbane Entertainment Centre is the main home court, but a previous Brisbane basketball venue is not a substitute for that game's listing.

Are Bullets times shown in Queensland time?

They are when Brisbane is selected at the top of the page. The time-zone label stays visible so you can distinguish it from daylight-saving times interstate.

Were Brisbane part of the first NBL season?

Yes, the Bullets began in the 1979 foundation competition. Their later absence means foundation status and uninterrupted participation are different claims.

Which seasons brought Brisbane championships?

The NBL lists 1985, 1987 and 2007. These are championship seasons, not merely years in which Brisbane reached the playoffs.

Why are some years absent from Bullets schedules?

Brisbane left the competition after 2008 and returned in 2016. Historical fixture searches need to account for that break.

Does the Bullets calendar include Cairns and interstate trips?

Yes. The team calendar includes published home and away fixtures. Use the Brisbane city calendar if you want games by their physical location instead.
