What the Availability Labels Mean
The NBL injury report helps you check who has been named in the league’s latest injury update and what has been said about a possible return. Choose a team to focus on one club, or use the availability filter to find fitness tests and other report categories. Read the injury, expected return and report date together. The information describes the report at that time, not a promise about the next team sheet.
Fitness test and return to be confirmed
A fitness test means a player’s availability depends on an assessment. It does not mean the player will definitely play, start or receive their usual minutes. “Return to be confirmed” reflects an uncertain return, often shown as TBC by the source. Do not translate that uncertainty into an estimated number of days. A player can remain under assessment until close to tip-off, after the report you are reading was published.
Rounds, dates and longer absences
An expected return might be expressed as a round, a range of rounds, a month or a longer absence such as the rest of the season. We keep that wording so a broad estimate is not turned into an exact date. A round can contain more than one game for a club. Reaching the named round therefore does not automatically clear a player for its first fixture, and passing an estimated date does not confirm recovery.
“Listed in injury report” is used where the source provides injury and return information without a more definite availability statement. It is deliberately separate from a confirmed match-day absence. The league may revise the wording as a player progresses. Follow the source link to read the full report, especially if a roster decision or late update appears to conflict with a short status label elsewhere.
Checking Team News Before Tip-off
Start with the official report
Each entry links to the official NBL injury update. The article’s title and update text identify the report being used; an older-looking URL does not necessarily mean the article itself is still about that earlier season. Check the visible report date and the player’s team rather than judging freshness from the address alone. The page also shows when the information was last checked.
Then check the match and confirmed starters
Open today’s line-ups to see confirmed starting fives where available, and follow the official game centre for late announcements. Injury status and starting status answer different questions. An available player may come off the bench. A player who starts may still have a reduced role, and a player absent from this report may miss a game for another reason. None of those outcomes should be inferred from an empty injury row.
Using the Team Filters
The team filter narrows the table to the club you follow. Combining it with a status filter can produce an empty result even when that club has other injury reports. Reset the selection to see the whole list again. Team logos identify clubs, while the report source provides the context behind each entry. A player’s team should be checked carefully around roster changes; a previous club’s report may no longer describe their current situation.
For a match-day plan, pair this page with today’s fixtures and the Australian TV schedule. Availability updates do not change the listed tip-off by themselves. Confirm the fixture, venue and coverage separately. This report is intended to help fans follow team news; the short injury description is not an explanation of a player’s full medical circumstances or a timetable for an individual recovery.
NBL Injury Report FAQs
Does a player missing from the list mean they will play?
No. It means there is no matching entry in the report shown here. Selection, illness, personal circumstances and late announcements may affect availability. Check official match-day team news before drawing a conclusion.
Is an expected return a confirmed comeback game?
No. It is the expectation stated in the source. A player may need further assessment, and the return estimate can change. Keep the original wording in mind when it names a range rather than one date.
Why can the official page show newer information?
The source may change after this page was last checked. Compare the report times and use the official link for the latest announcement, particularly shortly before tip-off.
Can I use this report to identify the starting five?
Not by itself. An injury report describes availability information, while a confirmed line-up identifies starters for a particular game. Use the dedicated line-ups page and official game centre for that separate question.
