Planning a Wildcats night at RAC Arena

For Perth supporters, the main decisions are which game to attend and which clock to follow when the Wildcats travel. The next-home card starts with the club's next designated home fixture. Read the venue and city underneath it before buying: a game hosted in Perth and a game involving the Wildcats are not always the same thing, particularly during a multi-team event.

Choose the game before choosing the seats

RAC Arena is the Wildcats' principal home court in the official NBL profile. Use the official tickets link for the selected match, then check the basketball seating configuration. A ticket or membership offer should be read for its actual inclusions; it may describe a particular set of fixtures rather than every basketball event held in the building.

If you are bringing a group, settle on the game, price range and access needs before purchasing. Compare available seats together instead of assuming adjacent rows will remain available across several separate orders. For a family, read the seller's age categories and family-package conditions. The fixture list does not promise a particular price, discount or number of seats still on sale.

Check RAC Arena's visitor information for transport, entrances and accessibility. Build arrival time around the event's entry instructions rather than equating tip-off with doors opening. If you are meeting friends, agree on a point that everyone can reach with their own ticket. Keep enough time to find the right section before the first possession.

Perth time and interstate basketball

Choose Perth in the time-zone selector to see fixtures in Western Australian time. The Wildcats' road schedule spans states with different daylight-saving arrangements. A fixed rule such as “always subtract two hours from Sydney” will fail during part of the summer. Each fixture is converted for its date, so the selected zone is a more reliable guide than a correction remembered from an earlier round.

If you are travelling east, use the local venue time for your itinerary. If you remain in Perth, leave the page and your calendar on Perth time for viewing reminders. A game that looks like a late eastern-state tip-off can fall earlier in your evening. Check both the hour and the date if your calendar app is set to a different location from where you will watch.

Perth Wildcats history: championships across several eras

  1. 1982Wildcats began
  2. 1990First championship
  3. 2010Fifth championship
  4. 2020Tenth championship

From the 1982 beginning to the first championships

The Wildcats began in 1982. The club's historical account traces its development into a regular contender, including Cal Bruton's influence and Ricky Grace's arrival. The first championship came in 1990. Grace is one of the central names in that story, rather than a player whose importance is captured only by one season's scoring average.

Ten title years, not one unchanged team

The league records Perth's championship years as 1990, 1991, 1995, 2000, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Those titles span different squads and coaches. The club's championship-team archive separates the winning sides and their deciding series. It is a useful way to explore a particular banner without combining everyone who wore a Wildcats jersey into one imaginary all-time roster.

Grace, Martin and the meaning of longevity

Ricky Grace's first title-era role and Damian Martin's later leadership offer two different entry points into Perth history. The club story describes Martin's defensive influence and his championship association with Jesse Wagstaff. These examples show why a club's identity can be carried by playmaking, defence and continuity as well as points scored. Historical leadership is a different subject from the next game's confirmed line-up.

Perth's run of Finals appearances from 1987 to 2021 is a completed historical sequence. It should not be described as an ongoing streak. The year-by-year table is helpful for checking where a season fits, whether it ended in an early playoff round or a championship. A Finals appearance and a title are distinct outcomes even for a club with a long record of success.

Home fixtures, HoopsFest and following the whole season

When several clubs play in Perth during an event, decide whether you want a Wildcats game or any basketball at RAC Arena. A Perth city listing can include matches between other teams. This team page follows the Wildcats themselves, including their away trips. Check the names on each event before paying, especially if a ticket seller also offers sessions or packages covering more than one match.

The club's published schedule is the official starting point for dates. Here you can separate upcoming fixtures from completed scores, keep the home or away selection and move through the full season with pagination. Use the season record to understand current progress rather than assuming the historical title count settles a present-day matchup.

For a recently finished game, the match centre brings together available player figures and videos. A low-scoring individual night can still include useful rebounds, assists or defensive contributions. Games played alongside the averages helps you distinguish a long run of performances from a brief sample. An unavailable figure should be left as unavailable rather than guessed from a highlight.

Australian viewing arrangements are set out in the watching guide, with announced channels shown against individual fixtures. A Wildcats match being at RAC Arena does not establish that it is free to watch from home. Check the service and the game before subscribing. The team calendar is only a scheduling tool and does not include a broadcast entitlement or an arena ticket.

Perth Wildcats fan questions

How do I see Wildcats fixtures in Perth time?

Select Perth at the top of the page. The dates are converted individually, including fixtures during eastern states' daylight-saving periods.

Is every basketball game at RAC Arena a Wildcats match?

No. Multi-team events can feature other clubs. Check the participants, not only the venue, before choosing a ticket.

How many NBL championships are on Perth's official list?

Ten, spanning 1990 to 2020. They were won by different generations of Wildcats teams.

When did Perth first win the NBL title?

The first championship was in 1990. The official championship-team archive provides that team's players and series results.

Is the famous Finals streak still running?

The historical sequence ran from 1987 through 2021. It should be discussed with those dates rather than presented as a current unbroken streak.

Should I use the Wildcats or Perth calendar?

Use the Wildcats calendar for the club's home and away games. Use the Perth city calendar for basketball actually played in Perth, including other teams.
