Choosing a JackJumpers game in Tasmania

For a JackJumpers outing, the first decision is Hobart or Launceston. The club represents Tasmania, but its home games are not all in one city. Read the venue on your chosen fixture before arranging a drive, accommodation or a meeting point. The next-home card follows the team's hosting schedule; it does not choose the closest game to where you live.

MyState Bank Arena and the Silverdome

The club identifies MyState Bank Arena and Launceston Silverdome as its home venues in its ticketing information for supporters. The two buildings need separate travel and seating plans. A Hobart itinerary should not be attached to a Silverdome ticket simply because both events are labelled Tasmania home games.

Use the arena links above for the relevant visitor information. Before buying, check the basketball seating map, accessibility arrangements and the ages covered by any child or family category. If you are travelling with someone who needs a particular entrance or companion seating, confirm it with the seller before choosing seats. Having a general admission to an event does not answer every access question.

For a group coming from different parts of the state, send the arena name with the date and tip-off rather than only the opponent. Plan the return trip with some flexibility: the listed start does not establish a guaranteed finishing time. Allow for the time needed to get out of the building after the game, especially if everyone intends to leave together.

Tickets and availability for your chosen date

The club's ticketing letter describes the pressure on home-game seating and the possibility of seats being released later. It is background information, not a live stock count or a promise that a particular release will happen for your match. Use the official seller to check current availability. A fixture being listed here does not mean seats are still available, and a sold-out message at one moment does not justify buying through an unverified link.

If you have flexibility, compare upcoming home dates in both cities before committing to travel. A different opponent or an afternoon start may suit the group better. Read any membership or multi-game offer for the actual games and venues included. Do not assume that a product with “Tasmania” in its name automatically covers every home event in the state.

JackJumpers history: from a new team to a championship

  1. 2020Club established
  2. 2021-22Inaugural NBL season
  3. 2022First Championship Series
  4. 2024First NBL championship

Formation and the first season are different dates

The NBL club profile lists 2020 as the establishment year. The JackJumpers first played in the 2021–22 season, also identified in the club's account of Will Magnay's time in Tasmania. Those dates describe the creation of the organisation and its competitive debut, not two separate first seasons.

A first-year Finals run

Tasmania reached the Championship Series in its inaugural campaign. The 2022 series preview describes the JackJumpers' route past Melbourne and their meeting with Sydney. That appearance was an early landmark, but reaching the deciding series should not be confused with winning the club's first championship.

The 2024 title and Jack McVeigh

The league records Tasmania's first title in 2024. Jack McVeigh was the Championship Series MVP and also won the club's MVP award that year, as documented in the JackJumpers' awards report. The two honours have different scopes: one recognises the championship series, the other the club season.

McVeigh's championship performance and Scott Roth's coaching are central subjects when exploring the early JackJumpers story. Magnay provides another connection between the inaugural group and the title period. Keep historical achievements labelled with their seasons rather than reading a championship-era account as today's roster announcement. The current player statistics above serve a different purpose from a retrospective.

A short history with distinct milestones

Formation, debut, first Championship Series and first title arrived close together, which makes it especially important to keep their meanings separate. A newly established club can reach a final without yet being a champion. A later trophy does not turn every earlier playoff win into a championship game. Read the season and stage alongside the result when revisiting those first campaigns.

Following Tasmania between home dates

Select Hobart in the time-zone menu for both Hobart and Launceston. The two cities use the same clock; choosing one does not move a fixture from one city to the other. On road trips, look at the venue time if you are travelling or keep the display on Hobart if you will watch from Tasmania. The season spans daylight saving, so the difference from Queensland or Perth can change.

The team calendar follows the JackJumpers throughout the league. A Hobart city calendar will not include a Launceston home game, and a Launceston calendar will not include a Hobart one. Choose the team subscription if you want both home venues and the away dates. A downloaded calendar is a useful snapshot, but only a subscription can receive fixture changes when the calendar app refreshes.

Use the completed list to find the latest confirmed score and open the match centre for the available statistics and videos. The regular-season record does not combine preseason results or historical championship games. When comparing players, check their games played alongside the averages so that a brief appearance is not mistaken for a whole season of similar output.

For watching at home, consult the individual game's channels and the Australian viewing guide. Neither a Hobart nor a Launceston venue guarantees free coverage. Confirm the service before the game and keep the actual tip-off separate from any pre-game broadcast programme. A ticket to the arena and access to a stream are different products.

Tasmania JackJumpers fan questions

Do the JackJumpers play only in Hobart?

No. Home fixtures also use Launceston's Silverdome. Check the arena for the match you are attending rather than assuming every Tasmania home game is in Hobart.

Do Hobart and Launceston games use different time zones?

No. Select Hobart for the Tasmanian clock in both cities. The venue determines the travel destination, not a different time-zone setting.

Did Tasmania start playing in 2020?

The club was established in 2020, but its inaugural NBL playing season was 2021–22. Those dates should not be used interchangeably.

Was the first Championship Series also the first title?

No. The inaugural-season run reached the 2022 deciding series. The first championship came in 2024.

Which award did Jack McVeigh win in the title season?

He was the 2024 Championship Series MVP and the JackJumpers' club MVP. The awards recognise different parts of that successful season.

Does a listed home fixture mean tickets remain available?

No. Check the official ticket seller for current availability and any later releases. The schedule confirms the event, not a seat allocation.
