NBL Games in Karratha

NBL preseason basketball in Karratha

Karratha's listing records a particular regional basketball occasion, rather than a full regular-season home schedule. The Wildcats met the Taipans at Karratha Leisureplex in the 2026 preseason. Use Completed to revisit that game; Coming up will show another fixture only when one has been announced for the city.

A Pilbara visit with its own date

The Wildcats' announcement identified 22 August 2026 as the club's first game in Karratha. It connected the visit with the 60th anniversary of Rio Tinto's first Pilbara iron-ore shipment and outlined community basketball activities around the occasion. Those details describe that edition; they do not establish an annual NBL event.

For future visits, wait for an official fixture and its own ticket announcement. A past promotional link may explain the event but cannot confirm current availability. The match centre above retains the basketball result, while this guide explains why the regional occasion mattered.

What the Leisureplex is

The City of Karratha's sports-courts page describes a community facility with indoor and outdoor courts used for several sports. A court-hire booking or casual basketball session is separate from admission to a professional event. Do not treat the published facility fees as NBL ticket prices.

If another NBL match is announced, use its specific spectator entry instructions. The Leisureplex's everyday recreation arrangements do not by themselves tell you the seating layout, doors time or accessible admission arrangements for a major event. Those are questions for the event organiser and venue.

Connecting Pilbara basketball with the professional game

The significance of the 2026 visit lies in taking an established NBL club to a regional community. The Wildcats announcement describes junior clinics and engagement with local players alongside the preseason game. That makes the trip a community basketball story as well as a result between Perth and Cairns.

Karratha is not a Perth home-game address

The Wildcats' identity is tied to Perth, but this fixture belongs to Karratha because that is where it was played. The two cities share Western Australian time; they do not share a venue or a local travel plan. Use Perth's page for RAC Arena games and the Wildcats page for the team's wider schedule.

A city page remains useful after a one-off event finishes. It keeps the confirmed result attached to the right location and provides a clear place for a later announcement. An empty upcoming view means there is no announced future fixture in the current list. It is not a prediction that the NBL will or will not return to the Pilbara.

Questions about NBL games in Karratha

Does Karratha host a full NBL regular season?

The current Karratha listing includes an announced regional preseason fixture, not a permanent club's full home season. Future games appear when confirmed.

When did the Wildcats first play in Karratha?

The club announced its first Karratha game for 22 August 2026 against the Cairns Taipans at Karratha Leisureplex. That date is now a completed preseason event.

Can I buy an NBL ticket through the Leisureplex court-hire page?
